A really excellent course. Despite having been cycling since childhood - on the same bike I ride now (!) - I've never really got to grips with it. After the course I now feel that I have all the information I need to capably deal with a puncture, adjust my bike to fit me as best it can, ensure that my gears and brakes are in tip-top condition, and more. Mike was a brilliant instructor, taking time to explain and reiterate where necessary, and the teeny group size meant that there was the perfect amount of time spent with each of us on our very different bikes.I really appreciated him spending a few minutes at the end answering some of my foolishly basic extra questions too. I look forward to popping into one of the Bike Kitchens to further tune up the bike I now better understand thanks to this great course that I FULLY recommend.
I found this to be a really useful and informative session. As someone new to cycling I feel far more confident in looking after my bike and doing basic maintenance. Mike was a great instructor, very calm, patient and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back for more workshops.
Really good course. The instructor couldn't have been more helpful. I have a much better idea of how my bike works and what to do if I have a puncture.
Thanks to Mike for a good course. I think I knew a bit about all of the areas covered, but this gives that bit of extra know how and then means you are confident to tackle the job away from the workshop. A good learning environment, nice pace and place!
A brilliant workshop for covering the basics and providing that confidence to give it a go yourself. Good mix of talking and hands on with very patient advice.
Some very useful tips for cleaning and maintaining my bicycle. The time flew by and Mike was very patient and knowledgeable. My only negative was the very basic level the course began on. Maybe a questionnaire to be completed before the course date to gauge the level of participants will help find the level at which to begin. Just a thought. Overall we were very pleased with the course.
Reinforced the rough ideas I had about bike maintenance, giving opportunities to ask questions and gain hands on experience. Personally I would have liked a hand-out just to list bits and pieces needed to carry out work at home. Feel much more confident about running a check on my bike. Great tutor. Would like to return gain more know how! Thank you.
Covered the basics for me. Brake adjustments and removing/refitting back wheel most useful as they're jobs I usually muck up! Mike the instructor very knowledgeable and helpful. On another note, a great little set up at BBP
As a novice cyclist, this course has helped me get to grips with the basics of maintaining and repairing my bike. After an evening of expert tuition in a very small group I now feel competent to keep an eye out for problems and conduct running repairs. I would very much recommend this course to anyone who has taken up cycling but feels that they don't really know what they're doing when it comes to bike maintenance. After this course, you will!
Did quite a bit of research before choosing this course. It proved to be absolutely superb. Excellent instruction and supervision from knowledgable staff who took the time willingly to guide us throughout the work. And by going on the course you support an excellent project. I've already undertaken work on my own bike back at home and the instruction worked. Ive booked for the next course and am looking forward to it immensely.
